Clinical Applications of Flowable Composite Resins: A Comprehensive Series

In proximal posterior cavities that we need to restore with a direct composite resin, we usually use a matrix system to achieve a good contact point and a natural proximal shape. For cervical adaptation, using a flowable material like Filtek Bulk Fill Flowable composite, which has no internal bubbles, good mechanical properties, and easy handling, can help us achieve perfect cervical margin adaptation and fill all internal cavity undercuts.

Its handling allows for the building of undercuts on cores, cavities, block-outs, and fillings of regular cavities. Additionally, its ideal flowability makes this material easily adaptable to the internal walls of the cavity, reducing the possibility of internal bubbles or marginal flaws.

To enhance the final aesthetic result and longevity, it can be combined with other restorative materials, for example, by using the Bulk & Body or Bulk & Go technique.
