EGR: Indications for daily use

Ortho and Kids - Direct anteriors

EGR stands for Esthetic Guided Resotrations a concept created by Styleitaliano. Since 2011, with the launch in Italy of a new type of prefabricated veneers, new options in anterior restorations are available.
They are polymerised, pre-fabricated nano-hybrid-composite enamel-shells and combine the advantages of direct restoration with those of lab-made Veneers. Manufactured from highly filled nano-hybrid-composite and showing high degree of conversion, the Shell have a thickness ranged between 0,3 and 0,8 mm. This allows to reduce with burs the tooth surface at a minimum or, often, not at all. This is the reason why Authors prefer to call them “EGR” (esthetic guided restorations) instead of veneers. They are luted on the tooth surface with the same material, which makes the complete restoration one single solid unit.
The pre-shaped shell are available in different sizes and value and are easy to use for single-tooth reconstruction as well as for the six anteriori teeth. Moreover the EGR can be customised for each patient through stain on the internal face and micro texturing the external surface. Tailored to the requirements of daily consumer needs, they could cover a wide range of indications.
